Google+ The Introverted Reader: I Was Bad...

I Was Bad...

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

On Saturday, I stopped by a mall that I almost never go to. I was looking for something else, but the little Waldenbooks in there had huge 60% off Store Closing signs all over it. I felt bad that the store is closing, but somebody has to buy their stock, right?

Right?

It might as well be me.

Here's what I got (links go to the GoodReads description):

Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian--I've already read this, but I loved it so much I had to have my own copy.
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale
Wings by Aprilynne Pike (Isn't this a pretty cover?)

Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong

The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (If you haven't read this author's book, The Shadow of the Wind, you need to fix that right now.)
The Magicians by Lev Grossman

My husband chose The Whiskey Rebels by David Liss, but I'm sure I'll read it eventually.
We got The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn for my nephew's birthday.

Have you read any of these? What did you think?

  1. I only read Wings and that one was very nice! The plot was okay, but still a good one to start the series. I really heard some great things about the Summoning!!

Great bunch of books you have picked out. Have fun reading them.

  7. Oh how I love The Kissing Hand. My mom got that for me in college a few years ago. Whiskey Rebels sounds good. Definitely sounds like something my husband might want to read too, although probably from a non-fiction point of view.

  8. The Kissing Hand is a great book for a college student! I don't think I would have thought of that.

My husband wasn't really a reader when I met him, but I kept making him try books until we found out that he loves historical fiction, especially historical mysteries. I don't know if that's what Whiskey Rebels is, but he has read one other book by that author and really liked it.

  11. Parajunkee, I really do keep hearing how great Kelley Armstrong is, so I'm excited to pick that one up.

Lady Quinlan, I'm glad someone's read it and thinks it's at least pretty good!
