Ken Follett's World Without End has taken me to Kingsbridge, England in the mid-1300s. This town built a Gothic cathedral in The Pillars of the Earth that might have looked similar to the one built around that time in Salisbury:
So far, in World Without End, the townspeople are trying to rebuild a bridge. This is the Notre-Dame Bridge in Mende, Lozère, France, built at about the right time.
Miz B of Should Be Reading wants a teaser from your book.
From page 8 of World Without End:
"The silence was broken by a terrible scream. Gwenda had been expecting it--Ma had explained what was going to happen during the service--but, all the same she was shocked. It sounded like someone being tortured."
Where has your reading taken you this week? Do you have a teaser to share?
