Google+ The Introverted Reader: Where Are You? and Teaser Tuesday

Where Are You? and Teaser Tuesday

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

An adventure in reading wants to know where our reading has taken us this week.

Jasper Fforde's Shades of Grey has taken me into the future, after the Something That Happened, into a society where the color you can see determines your social standing. I have no idea where this would be in today's world, but I'm in East Carmine.

Red Mailbox in a Grey World
Taken by James Harrison and posted on the Shades of Grey website.

Thanks to Miss Eliza, I found out that East Carmine is Rhayader, Wales, pictured above.

Miz B at Should Be Reading would like a teaser. This is the first real sentence of Shades of Grey:

It began with my father not wanting to see the Last Rabbit and ended up with my being eaten by a carnivorous plant.

Where has your reading taken you this week?  Do you have a teaser to share?
