Google+ The Introverted Reader: The Wise Man's Fear Publication Date!

The Wise Man's Fear Publication Date!

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

I'm so excited!!!!!!!! Patrick Rothfuss, author of The Name of the Wind, announced on his blog today that the sequel, The Wise Man's Fear, has a publication date set for March 1, 2011! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, that's a long way away. I know that. But at least there's a solid date now.

If you haven't read The Name of the Wind, this gives you 10 months to go rectify that situation. It's amazing fantasy, and now you know you won't have to wait indefinitely for book 2.

My review of The Name of the Wind.

  1. Wow! An actual date?!?! I only heard of this author because one of my husband's coworkers suggested he read it so I got it for him. My husband actually reads his blog now and the other day I went, "If you read his blog now, why don't you just read the book then?" And my fellow coworker also recommended it and mentioned how at one point the author showed a picture of the manuscript for book two and how big it was. So now, the hubby and I have a year to rectify the situation and read The Name of the Wind. Here's hoping that date holds then! I haven't read it and I'm excited too :)

  2. I haven't any vested interest in this book but I always love to see others get excited about yet-to-be-released books.

  5. I had a suspicion that was why he chose March 1st, Misty. Thanks for confirming! ;-)

PolishOutlander, I think you will love it! I saw the blog post with the finished manuscript. He pointed out that it was one sided and double spaced, but that thing was as tall as his baby!

    Thanks for the award, Letter4no1!

Aths, I hope you like it! I thought it was great, especially for his first novel.
