Okay, bloggers, this is the stuff that you really want to read because it directly pertains to you.
In my wanderings through my Google Reader this week, I have come across a lot of cool new ideas that you guys might be interested in.
Book Rat is making final preparations for her Jane in June event next month. Who doesn't love Austen? If you're interested in participating, there's a form to fill out on her blog. There will be prizes. And just check out this pretty button:
Star Shadow is looking for bloggers who want to be Book Blogging Buddies. If you sign up, you'll be matched with another book blogger with similar reading taste to yours, and you can share recommendations, blog ideas, and encouragement. If you both agree, you can do book swaps and gifts. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Enbrethiliel at Shredded Cheddar is starting a new meme, Locus Focus. She wants to know about settings that struck you--love them, hate them, time, place, in this world or out of it. Share your thoughts every Saturday, beginning May 15!
I've heard that all good ideas start on Twitter, and I finally got to be a small part of a good idea!
Are you feeling a little bummed that you can't make it to Book Expo America or the Book Blogger Convention? Just feeling a little left out? There's a cure for that!
Basically, those of us stuck at home the week of May 24-30 will be having our own virtual BEA/Book Blogger Con experience. We haven't worked out all the details yet, but the idea is to network, do guest posts and interviews, do themed posts, and host some giveaways (trying to keep them international by using Book Depository as much as possible). Emily from Emily's Reading Room has kindly volunteered to make a button for us. We're looking for participants and suggestions, so fill out the form below if you'd like to join in. Sign-ups end May 17. It should be a lot of fun! Hope to see you there! Thanks to There's A Book, Florinda at The 3 R's Blog, Tif Talks Books, Aarti at BookLust, Puss Reboots, Michelle's Masterful Musings, Not Just For Kids, Things Mean A Lot, 1330v, and Heather whose blog I can't find for dreaming up this idea and getting it together!
