It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? hosted at Book Journey
It's Monday!  What Are You Reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It has been a crazy week! My little sister got married Friday evening, so between wedding prep, keeping her busy and sane, and going out to see The Princess Bride on a big outdoor screen with a group of friends one night (which was awesome, by the way), there has been little time for reading or blogging. I'm ready for a break!

Memory & Dream by Charles de Lint--a re-read

First Person America by Ann Banks

Up Next:
I definitely need a new audio book, but I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for. I may start another book on my nook for the gym as well. As soon as I finish Memory & Dream, I need to start on The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers for my book club. I know I read this in college, but I can't remember anything about it. I don't know if that's good or bad.

What are you reading this week?

I have an affiliate relationship with Malaprop's, my local independent bookstore located in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC; and Better World Books. I will receive a small commission at no cost to you if you purchase books through links on my site.

  1. I don't listen to a lot of audiobooks because I'm really picky about narrators and I usually prefer to listen to books I've already read (less distraction and safer driving!).

I liked Bet Me and might have to check out the audio sometime.

  2. The Princess Bride showing does sounds awesome! Enjoy your week!

  3. Bet Me is awesome, it was so funny. I usually reread it once a year because I love it so much. Hope you are enjoying it!

What are YOU reading @ The Brunette Librarian??

  4. I really need to read a Jennifer Crusie novel one of these days. Everyone seems to just love her stuff! I like your book choices for this week :)

  7. I agree with Bookdout... what a great way to see The Princess Bride!

My favorite read last week was Body and Soul by Stacey Kade. Please come see what else I'm reading.

  8. Princess Bride anywhere is always good. I recently saw it with someone who was a first timer and she didn't like it. I had to disown her.

  10. Okay, I'll try again...I should look at what I wrote before I hit "publish," lol.

Jennifer Crusie's books are fun, and I'd like to get back into reading them.

Have a great week! Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

  11. Wow I've never heard of Santa Olivia but the cover alone makes me want it right now! Happy Monday and I hope you have a great week!

  12. I loved The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Characters in Southern Literature are so wonderfully developed and remain wih you. Your blog is a great testament to the wonderful writing of southern authors. Happy Reading!
