Hosted at Joy's Book Blog every Tuesday, Readers' Workouts gives us a chance to motivate each other and stay accountable to ourselves.

I've been pretty bad for the past couple of weeks. Between my sister's wedding and going out with friends, I just haven't had much time. I did my interval run thing for Couch to 5K training on Monday. It had been so long since I was able to do this that I just started over at the beginning. I did pretty good with it. I did make it to my Pilates class on Thursday and Zumba on Friday. I wasn't as bad as I was afraid I would be in Pilates but I definitely had jelly abs when I walked out! You know that quivery feeling you get in your muscles when you've worked them out a little too hard? That. First time I've had it in my abs! Zumba was a lot of fun, especially since my husband joined me. He's in such great shape that it wasn't much of a workout for him, but he was a good sport and gave it a try. I, on the other hand, was sweating like crazy! I had some vague knee pain for a while so I probably hadn't been to Zumba in a couple of months before Friday. It was nice to go back, although I wish our studio was bigger. There's just not enough room for all of us to really shake it!

I'll be mowing the backyard with a push mower tomorrow, weather permitting, and hopefully some kind of cardio on Wednesday and Friday. I have plans on Tuesday and Thursday, so nothing on those days unless I squeeze in a walk on my breaks at work.

How have your workouts been coming along?

  1. I did Couch to 5K a few years ago and am thinking of doing it again since I haven't kept up with my running. I'm not a running lover though so I don't know if I can manage to motivate myself to do it on my "off" days though. LOL.

  2. Zumba is crazy isn't it? It took me FOREVER to get into the groove. Mainly because I'm a klutz like no one's business. :)

  3. I would love to do Zumba... but the classes in my local area just seem to clash with my running or something else.

    I think with running it is something you have to keep up with. You can't do it one week and then not the next. I had to take a slight running break for 2 weeks and getting back into it has been hard. I really need to find some other form of exercise to do as well...

    I love the idea of mowing with a push mower.
