Christmas Loot: Life and Lit
Sunday, December 30, 2012
My family and I had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you and yours did too! Bear with me while I show off my bookish Christmas loot.
I only got a couple of books, but I have so many unread piles lying around already, I didn't mind. I got plenty of other goodies.
The two books I got were Eyes Like Leaves by Charles de Lint and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. Charles de Lint is one of my favorite authors and I haven't read this one yet. I loved The Tale of Despereaux, so I'm excited to read more of DiCamillo's work.
Holding everything up in that picture is a pad for my hammock. I love to read/nap in it on nice days, but the mosquitoes view me as a special feast when I go out. They eat me alive by biting me through my clothes as I lie in my rope hammock! My mother-in-law has seen the damage they can cause. She very thoughtfully got me the hammock pad, so hopefully that will help me enjoy being outside more!
My husband got me The Reading Woman Calendar. It is beautiful! He also got me a very cool print of Alice in Wonderland from LitKids on etsy. That also came with a bookmark and a Tom Sawyer card. He purchased a very cool mug for my tea as well. It came with a removable infuser and matching lid.
Malaprops. I'm ready to act like a 4-year-old with new Dora band-aids and just wear them because they're awesome!
I think that's all the stuff that's even remotely bookish. Did you get any special gifts you want to tell me about?
I have an affiliate relationship with Malaprop's, my local independent bookstore located in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC; and Better World Books. I will receive a small commission at no cost to you if you purchase books through links on my site.
