I need to choose a new audiobook, but other than that, probably nothing. I'm not reading very fast just now. I do want to re-read A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly before my book club meeting next week though.

Speaking of book club....

It's my turn to choose our book. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good book club book that is a little off the beaten path? Between another lady and me, we seem to have read everything! Here's a list of everything we've read so far. We try not to choose anything too new so we can check them out from the library rather than having to buy them. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What are you reading this week?

I have an affiliate relationship with Malaprop's, my local independent bookstore located in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC; and Better World Books. I will receive a small commission at no cost to you if you purchase books through links on my site. My opinions are completely my own.

  1. Hmm how about Fever by Mary Beth Keane or Oxygen by Carol Cassell?

    A Reliable Wife by Goolrick
The Lake of Dead Languages by Goodman
Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro

  7. I second the list of The Brunette Librarian...I haven't read all of the ones she listed, but The Glass Castle, The Storyteller, and Looking for Me are excellent. Enjoy your week....and here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES

  8. The Child Thief caught my eye, I remember seeing Brom's artwork when I was younger although it was sometimes a little darker than I usually like. Didn't know he had a book out...

As for suggestions, maybe Rutherford Park by Elizabeth Cooke (think it has a discussion guide, not sure) or The Edge of the Earth by Christina Schwarz.

  11. Looks like a good week for you.

The title Doctor Sleep scares me, and the cover does too. :)

I see you have SHADOW OF THE WIND on your side bar. I LOVED that book. I HAD to go to Barcelona after I read it. One of my all-time favorite books.

THANKS for sharing, and enjoy your week.
